A multimeter is an instrument commonly used by electricians. It can measure voltage, current, resistance, and even distinguish the polarity of diodes and triodes. As the name suggests, it has many uses and is very convenient.

First, measure the current

Select the measuring range according to the current in the circuit, test from large to small, insert the black probe into the "COM" jack, insert the red probe into the appropriate gear jack, and finally connect to the circuit for measurement.

However, it must be noted that when measuring the current, the multimeter and the circuit to be measured should be in series.

Two, measure the voltage

First determine whether it is DC voltage or AC voltage, insert the black probe into the "COM" jack, insert the red probe into the "VΩ" jack, select the corresponding gear and gear, and then connect the probe to the power supply or measure the voltage at both ends of the battery.

Three, measure the resistance

Use a multimeter to measure the voltage. Connect the multimeter to the line and device under test in parallel. The red probe is connected to the positive terminal and the black probe is connected to the negative terminal. If the connection is reversed, the voltage value will be negative.

Select the resistance stop and the appropriate measuring range, connect the red probe to the "v" jack, connect the black probe to the "COM" jack, and connect the probe to the metal parts at both ends of the resistance to complete the measurement.

Four. Measure capacitance value

Turn the selector switch to "capacitor gear", connect the discharged capacitor to the two pins of the capacitor with the red and black watch pen, and the digital multimeter will automatically change the range and read the display data.
